Family Nurturing Center of Georgia® is dedicated to enabling state and local agencies to effectively facilitate parenting programs in local communities across Georgia and the United States. There are three main curriculums that FNC-GA uses in this capacity are:

Nurturing Parenting for Prenatal Families

The Prenatal Program® is a nine-session group-based program (each session 2 1/2 hours). Parents learn ways to bond with their baby by examining the adjustments to being pregnant, discussing the physical and emotional changes occurring, strengthening the bonds between the partners, learning ways to nurture oneself, and preparing for parenthood.

Parents also examine their parenting attitudes, learn non-hitting ways of discipline, practice infant massage, and develop their empathic awareness of their needs and their infants' needs.

  Nurturing Parenting (School-Age Children)

This is a 15-session group-based program. Parents and children increase their empathy, learn nurturing ways to encourage appropriate behaviors, build self-concept and self-esteem, and learn to have fun as a family. This program was validated twice in each of six sites around the country with families identified as abusive and neglecting.

                                                                              Nurturing God's Way

This program first researched scriptures in the Bible, attempting to discern what God was telling His children about how to live and raise their children, and then looked at the Nurturing Parenting Program® to see if the program concepts were biblical and appropriate for Christian parents. We found many of the Nurturing Parenting Program philosophy components to be grounded in scripture. Nurturing God’s Way™ uses scripture to illustrate points; clarify reasons for behavior; instruct and exhort parents and children through their parenting journey; encourage for past, present and future actions performed well; and, provide hope for tomorrow.

With all our programs, we rely on individuals in our communities to be our facilitators. We use the term "facilitator" rather than teacher to express the very important role they play in maintaining the health and vitality of the groups experiencing our parenting programs. The wonderful thing about these programs is that almost anyone can be trained to facilitator, and we have regularly scheduled training programs to bring Nurturing Parenting Programs® to local communities.
A variety of training opportunities related to child abuse and neglect prevention are available for professionals, para-professionals & interested community members. Some of these trainings are listed below:
